Being a homemaker has made me more careful with the way I spend money recently. I have been wanting for some time now to regain all that I have lost in the fitness department eversince I stopped working. But of course, without a job, equates no money, hence personal training is definitely out, until True Fitness takeover of Planet Fitness. Two free personal training sessions to kickstart my very cold muscles. This is so heaven sent. My desire answered without even me starting to ask.
So without hesitation, I SMSed my personal trainer with the thickest of skin on my part and ask if he could train me with the free vouchers.
So at 7pm last evening, I started to train again. Obviously having stopped training for 1 year now, I have forgotten what it was like. But soon enough all memories started flooding right back. What am I doing? I have just volunteered to get tortured. But well no pain no gain, right?
So with a great hour of being tortured, but a good dinner at nearby hawker center at Zion Rd, we started to head home from Great World via CTE.
It was a nightmare, there was a huge jam that started right from Orchard Tunnel and there is not sight of clearance until Ang Mo Kio Ave 3.
No sight of accident or anything to explain the jam. We were literally crawling along CTE, inch by inch. I certainly could have made it home faster walking. As we inched along, it took us an hour plus to reach Bradell exit, and there is still no sign of the jam improving. Well, there is a notice that said there was a flood at Ang Mo Kio Ave 3 and only 1 lane is passable to traffic. But seriously, flood on expressway, enough to stop traffic flow??? Hmmm...
Well it was very true indeed when we passed it. (Have attempted to take a photo but with the not so great skill of EP driving and a van in the way, I failed) It was a quite a flood. Hmmm, wondering why we are paying so those ERP which is especially much on CTE and have quality road like that. Hope they embark on some improvement work soon, given all the road works already underway everywhere in Singapore.
It took us a total of close to 2 hours to get home from what was usually the most an half hour drive at moderate speed (PS: EP does not drive moderate speed, he drives a VIOS like a Lambongini). I was surprised we reached home before midnight. Wonder what was the damage for people taking cab last night. Maybe they were sweating blood as the meter ran faster than the traffic. Hmmmm
