Boom De Ah Dah

I remember when I was growing up, round about 11 or 12 years old, my mum was babysitting one of my cousins. That was the time when I observed that toddlers are strange creatures. They never seem to enjoy watching cartoons or any real TV. But advertisements excite them alot. When we walked away during commercial, my cousin will run right out from wherever she was, and for a good few minutes stayed absolutely glued to the TV. I never understood why then, but i know now.... Toddlers have very very short attention span. What has that got to do with Boom De Ah Dah - absolutely nothing!!!

Hmm...not quite. Recently I fell in love with this advertisement airing on Discovery Channel. Fell so in love with it, I found myself doing exactly what my little cousin did, ran out from wherever I am and get glued to the TV for a good 1 min. The ad cracks me up (esp. the part with the mythbusters). The singing is great and the sights are so beautiful. Oh yes, one more thing, the astronauts remind me of my big friend, TMM.

Today, I found out that it is also on You Tube. And the version on You Tube has a little bit more than what is on Singapore Cable TV. Guess who will be hoarding the computer everyday now????? :P Boom de ah dah, boom de ah dah, boom de ah dah..........

Check it out on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=at_f98qOGY0

Why I can't just put it here? Easy....because this IT fool doesn't know how and can't reach her friend who knows. Ha ha.

Oh, The Places I'll Go......

Approximately 1 year ago, I received as a leaving gift a book from a very dear colleague. It is by Dr Seuss, titled "Oh, The Places You'll Go!". It's a lovely children book. I love children books, but only when I became an adult. I preferred adult books when growing up. What an irony! But that is beside the point. I love it but I was thinking to myself, changing job only la, not that I am going on a life adventure. How things have changed in such a short time. You can't say 11months 16days is a long time, can you?

In exactly 18 business days, I will become officially jobless and completely broke. I will have to rely solely on my husband for $$, change my job title to "tai tai" (as known to the general public). To many, this must not be a bad deal, but for one who has been labelled workaholic at the age of 17 while working as a TEMP, this is HUUUGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
Oh the very thought is making my hair stand and my body soft.....

Now I am certain I will be having an adventure. I will be stepping into all sorts of unknown territories, experiencing all sorts of adventures. Hmmm...... Oh the places I'll go. Thank you friend for the book, now it will have an even greater place in my heart (not to say I didn't appreciate it when I first got it, hor). This is indeed a leap of faith for me.
